Read Between The Wines

Life is too short to read a bad book and drink bad wines.

A Word From The Owner

This business started out with a small wish to bring readers together. I have always enjoyed reading books. They could make me cry, laugh or get me very angry. I hoped to build a place for booklovers to gather and enjoy their books together.

What Readers Are Saying

Why did I chose this as my business? When I looked at these reviews I realised that a lot of people that read books and want to be in a book club don’t like it or don’t know where to go.

I wish there was one. 33f and haven’t found one yet beyond a scifi/fantasy one, and I don’t like those genres (prefer old English and Russian literature or magic realism like Garcia Marquez or Murakami).

Opinion on book clubs in the Netherlands

Book clubs are  a time-consuming activity. With busy schedules and multiple commitments,  people feel that the mandatory reading is an additional burden rather than an enjoyable hobby. This can make people less inclined to join or continue with a book club.

Charmaine Tobey

Opinion on book clubs in the Netherlands

People feel that book clubs in the Netherlands focusses on a narrow range of genres or authors, which can make the reading experience feel exclusive. This lack of diversity in book choices discourage people with different tastes or interests from participating.

Delmar Byers

Opinion on book clubs in the Netherlands

Similar to other places  individuals in the Netherlands feel that book clubs sometimes have a social dynamic where a few dominant voices take over the discussions, making it difficult for others to contribute or feel included.
